BARRISTER WAKIL - MAN OF VIRTUE!
Leadership is one of the most valuable assets a human being can posses, and leadership is basically a legitimate influence of a person on a group towards the achievement of a set of goals. Not everyone can be a leader, and it’s very important for non-leaders to have leaders in their presence. Leaders are important to help guide none leaders, because everyone has different opinion and without a leader it is easy for a situation with none leaders to become chaotic. It is very important what a leader is so that people can know the qualities that makes them a good leader, sometimes people in authority are often mistaken for leaders, but not everyone in a leadership position is considered a leader.
What can I say?
Barrister WAKIL OYELERU OYEDEMI is a leader. Through his words, you can see he believes his people, and believing in your people, it gives them the confidence they need to complete task at hand. I just read Dahood, Kolawole Mandela's article, you won't believe it, I was drifting from my innermost. Eagerness overwhelmed me. I'm on tenterhooks to know more and more. Tears flow down my eyes like a rivulet river. I was moved and touched by what Barrister WAKIL told Mandela. He said, 'Mandela! If it is comfort for myself I have it but it is not a total comfort. If it is peace of mind, I do have it because I can comfortably feed myself and cater for my family with ease. But as a utilitarian I love comfort, peace and satisfaction that are extended to people around me. As a lawyer, I have always made a voice for the voiceless through my pro bono services - in Oyo, Ibadan and Ogbomoso majorly. My brother! I was not born with a silver spoon. No. Not at all. My parents were poor. I thank Almighty Allah for our lives today. May Allah bless the soul of my late mother for her unequal industry. Today, I'm a lawyer and that covers my humble beginning. As a smart young boy I learned carpentery as an apprentice here in Oyo town. I hawked on the streets like every poor young boy. I've sat where you're sitting and I have walked through the paths you're walking. I know what it is to be poor and I think I have the responsibility to voice them out if availed the opportunity in the Red Chamber as a Senator in Oyo Central Senatorial District.' He knows the nooks and crannies of sufferings on street, how the poors are relegated in all aspects of life. There are carcasses on the street, children with emaciated and feeble bones burn out of incessant hungers.
You're indeed what we need to survive this torrid period. For me, I bank on Oye!
