ADC Has No Faction in Oyo, Berubadupe Declares at Ibadan NW Congress
A leading aspirant for the Oyo State House of Assembly under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ibadan North West, Hon. Ali Ramon Berubadupe, has declared that the party remains united in Oyo State, dismissing claims of factionalisation.
Berubadupe stated that the only recognised leadership of the party in the state is the structure led by Alhaji Yinka Olona, stressing that any group parading itself outside this leadership should be disregarded by party members and the public.
He made this known on Wednesday during the Ibadan North West ADC Local Government Congress held at Opoo area, describing the exercise as peaceful, transparent and a reflection of internal democracy within the party.
According to him, “ADC in Oyo State is one and indivisible. There is no faction. The leadership under Alhaji Yinka Olona remains the only authentic and recognised structure. Those claiming otherwise are merely impostors and should not be taken seriously.”
The aspirant also reaffirmed the legitimacy of Hon. Hossain Ismail as the duly elected and recognised Chairman of ADC in Ibadan North West Local Government, noting that his emergence reflects the collective will of party members at the grassroots.
Berubadupe commended the party leadership at both the state and local government levels for ensuring a hitch-free congress, adding that the orderly conduct of the exercise demonstrates ADC’s readiness to take over governance in the state and beyond.
He urged party faithful and residents of Ibadan North West to remain steadfast and avoid being misled by what he described as “agents of confusion” seeking to destabilise the party.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Berubadupe called on the people of Oyo State and Nigerians at large to rally support for ADC, which he described as a credible alternative capable of addressing the nation’s socio-economic challenges.
He took a swipe at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing it of inflicting hardship on Nigerians through what he termed anti-people policies.
“Nigerians are groaning under the weight of hardship. The time has come to embrace a people-oriented platform like ADC that is committed to restoring hope, alleviating suffering and repositioning the country for sustainable development,” he said.
The congress witnessed the participation of party stakeholders, delegates and supporters across the local government, further consolidating ADC’s grassroots mobilisation drive ahead of future electoral contests.
