Oriyomi Hamzat has not done anything against the law to warrant being arrested  - Com Awodele Oluseun
A Save Our Souls (SOS) call has been made concerning the arrest of the Chairman, CEO of Agidigbo FM, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat who was arrested early hours of today Thursday 26th May by the security operatives from State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) and was handed over to Force Intelligence Bureau that whisked him away to Abuja.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the media outfit and signed by the head of station, Agidigbo FM 88.7 Ibadan, Adebayo Yousuph Grey, where he explained that Hamzat has regularly been invited by the security operatives for questioning over his consistent calls for due diligence in the trial of the Chief Rahman Adegoke Adedoyin over the death of Timothy Adegoke who died under unfortunate circumstances in the former’s hotel in Osun State.

The Statement reads thus: “We seek to reiterate here to well-meaning Nigerians, the media and the general Public, that the reason for which Mr. Oriyomi Hamzat was arrested for his defiant call for justice for Timothy Adegoke and the extensive support for the deceased’s family. We thereby appeal to all Nigerians to kindly lend their voice to ensure that Oriyomi Hamzat won’t be subjected to inhumane treatment and undue incarceration just for standing for the truth and for humanity”.

In swift reactions to the development, the Chairman of Independent Broadcaster Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) Comrade Seun Awodele, who has also issued statement to condemned the arrest and calls for his release, saying he has not done anything against the law to warrant being arrested and whisked away in commando manner to Abuja.
