OYO 2023: Adelabu meets Former Council Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Secretaries, Chiefs Of Staff and Supervisory Councilors
In a bid to strengthen his strategy ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Accord Party Governorship Candidate in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has continued to meet stakeholders and leaders in the grassroots, especially those that direct the affairs of the third tier of government - the local governments, in Oyo State. Chief Adelabu during the meeting with former Council Vice Chairmen, Secretaries, Chief Of Staffs and Supervisory Councilors held in Ibadan, he assured them of delivering good governance to the good people of Oyo State, if given the opportunity to serve them come 2023.
According to his media aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, he said that his principal is in the Oyo State Governoship race with all sense of seriousness and responsibility to the people and to win convincingly and be declared as the winner by the INEC come 2023.
"It's a blatant lie that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu called me to return to All Progressives Congress. He's my political father and mentor but he won't give such order. He's fully aware of my defection to Accord and believed my reasons for the defection are justifiable", Adelabu said.
"My interest in politics is to deliver good governance through people's oriented policies that would drive the economy of the state to enviable heights. This is our vision for Oyo state", Adelabu reteirated.
The former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria also appreciated the support received from the good people of Oyo State across the 33 local governments in the State. He stated that their supports continue to give him the confidence that Accord Party will come out victorious in the next Governorship Election in 2023.
Chief Adelabu informed the gathering that affirmation for the State House of Assembly Candidates will be held on Saturday 30th July, 2022 while affirmation for Governorship Candidate is slated for 3rd of August, 2022 at Liberty Stadium, Oke Ado Ibadan. He enjoined them to make it a date to witness the rebirth of his governorship aspiration on that day and the renewed journey to the emancipation of Oyo State from bad governance.
