PDP Wants INEC to Declare Seats of 27 Rivers Lawmakers Vacant
The opposition Peoples Democratic Party on Monday demanded that the seats of 27 lawmakers in the Rivers House of Assembly should be declared vacant.
The party said by defecting to the All Progressive Congress, the lawmakers have been deemed to have vacated their positions in the House.
In a statement by Debo Ologunagba, the PDP said by virtue of the provision of Section 109 (1) (g) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), the lawmakers are no longer members of the House.
