Breaking News: Remains of Late Chief of Army Staff Taoreed Lagbaja Arrive in Lagos with Full Military Honours
The body of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, arrived at the military wing of Lagos Airport as part of formal arrangements to transfer his remains to Abuja.
Senior military officers gathered in formation to pay their respects, honoring General Lagbaja with a full military parade featuring 48 soldiers and officers. This solemn ceremony follows the General's passing on Tuesday, November 5, after a prolonged illness in Lagos.
Lieutenant General Lagbaja’s passing prompted President Bola Tinubu to appoint Major General Olufemi Oluyede as the acting Chief of Army Staff. Further arrangements are set to continue in Abuja, where additional tributes will be held in remembrance of the late Army Chief’s service and contributions.
