Shocker : : Bolt Driver Makes U-turn, Apologizes to Hon. Alex Ikwechegh, Urges Nigerians to Move Past Altercation
Stephen Abuwatseya, an e-hailing driver, has publicly apologized to Hon. Alex Ikwechegh, the House of Representatives member representing Aba North/South in Abia State, following an altercation during a package delivery. In a video statement released on Thursday, Abuwatseya expressed remorse for his role in provoking the incident and urged Nigerians to put the matter behind them.
In his statement, Abuwatseya said, “I actually want to apologize to [Hon. Ikwechegh] for whatever I must have said or done to provoke him to that level of anger.” He also called on Nigerians to embrace unity, stressing the importance of moving beyond divisions based on religion, tribe, or region.
The driver further invoked a message of forgiveness, referencing the Lord’s Prayer, and emphasized that “there is no justice without forgiveness.”
Abuwatseya also took the opportunity to thank his family and supporters, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support. “I want to thank all of you. I love you all. God bless Nigeria,” he concluded.
The apology seeks to defuse tensions surrounding the incident, with Abuwatseya encouraging a spirit of reconciliation and national unity among Nigerians.
