Breaking News: APC Moves to Replace Shettima as Tinubu’s 2027 Running Mate as Dalori from Borno Named Acting Party Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun strategic political moves that may lead to the replacement of Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate in the 2027 general elections.

This development follows the sudden resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Friday, citing health-related concerns.

In a swift response, the APC appointed Ali Bukar Dalori, a prominent party figure from Borno State in the Northeast zone, as Acting National Chairman. Dalori previously served as APC Chairman in Borno, the same state as Shettima.
Political analysts believe the appointment is a calculated step that could shift power dynamics in the party and signal a possible sidelining of Shettima ahead of 2027.

Recall that at the APC Northeast zonal meeting held two weeks ago, President Tinubu was endorsed without any mention of the Vice President, a move that stirred discontent among some party stakeholders in the region.

As internal consultations intensify, many see Dalori’s elevation as part of a broader strategy to restructure the party’s ticket and leadership ahead of the next election cycle.
