Simon Guobadia Says He Regrets Marrying Porsha Williams, Claims She Targeted Him for His Money
Businessman Simon Guobadia says he “absolutely” regrets marrying Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, claiming the relationship was financially motivated on her part.
In an interview with Page Six, Guobadia alleged that Williams “targeted” him for his money and never truly communicated any marital issues before suddenly filing for divorce. “This felt like a coup,” he said. “I was totally blindsided.”
He revealed that attempts to speak with her and her loved ones were ignored, prompting him to send a message comparing their marriage to a failed investment: “This was a $5 million rehab project that I took on.”
Their 14-month marriage ended in February 2024, after Williams filed for divorce citing concerns over Guobadia’s finances and immigration status. But Guobadia insists she never raised any issues with him directly. “If you’re married, you discuss issues,” he said. “That never happened.”
Reflecting on their rapid courtship, Guobadia admitted, “Getting engaged in 30 days…who does that? I was out of my goddamn mind.”
After spending four months in ICE custody and being deported to Nigeria, Guobadia is now challenging a court ruling that upheld their prenuptial agreement. The judgment grants Williams $40,000 in monthly alimony and up to three years of mortgage-free residence. He vowed to appeal the decision “1,000%,” even if it means taking the case to the Supreme Court.
Guobadia also distanced himself from Williams’s daughter PJ, saying, “I don’t have a relationship with her daughter,” contradicting past claims that they were close. He further dismissed Williams’s gesture of paying child support during his detention, accusing her of doing it “for narrative purposes,” not out of genuine concern.
