NSCDC Commandant Visits Kisi: Chairman Pledges Continued Support for Security Agencies
The Executive Chairman of Irepo Local Government, Hon. (Alh.) Taoheed Tunde Olayiwola, warmly welcomed the Commandant of Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, CC Augustine Ayodeji Padonu, during his official tour to the Kisi Area Command on Tuesday, 29th July 2025.
In his address, the Chairman appreciated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Barr. Bayo Lawal, and the Commissioner for Establishments and Trainings, Prof. Abdulwaheed Soliu Adelabu, for their unwavering commitment to enhancing security architecture and institutional development in Oyo State. He described the visit as a testament to the NSCDC’s dedication to security and community welfare, and a great honour to the people of Irepo.
Hon. Olayiwola commended the professionalism and dedication of the command’s officers, especially in resolving communal and civil issues, which he said had contributed immensely to peace and safety in the region.
He further highlighted the proactive support of his administration, including logistics, stipends, and the provision of motorcycles to aid patrol efforts. He also revealed that a large portion of land has been allocated for the construction of a befitting NSCDC office in Kisi.
Appealing for more institutional presence, the Chairman urged the NSCDC to consider establishing an Agro Rangers Unit in Irepo LG, citing the inadequacy of the current unit zoned to Iseyin, which limits timely response to security challenges in the area.
He concluded by reaffirming Irepo LG’s unwavering support for the NSCDC and other security agencies, pledging continuous collaboration and advocacy for more resources from both state and federal levels to ensure the safety and well-being of the people.
