Breaking News: INEC Releases Names of 5 Candidates for Adamawa Assembly Bye-Election — Atiku's ADC Missing Amid Leadership Crisis
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the names of five candidates from various political parties who will contest in the forthcoming bye-election for the Adamawa State House of Assembly seat in Ganye Local Government Area.
According to INEC’s official list, the cleared candidates are:
Hon. Abdulhamid Idris Action People's Party (APP)
Hon. Musa Misa All Progressives Congress (APC)
Hon. Bengice Abdulrahman Allied People's Movement (APM)
Hon. Sa’ad Bello National Rescue Movement (NRM)
Hon. Buba Mohammed Joda People's Democratic Party (PDP)
The bye-election has generated significant interest, particularly because it is taking place in Adamawa Stat home of Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, who hails from Jada in the Ganye axis. Atiku is also rumored to be the leader or key influencer of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC), a party that has surprisingly failed to present a candidate for the contest.
Investigations by Lagos Reporters reveal that ADC’s absence from the ballot is linked to an ongoing internal leadership crisis within the party, which has hampered its ability to conduct primaries or make official submissions to INEC.
