Kwara SWAN Holds Digital Media Refresher Session for Membersp

In fulfilment of its commitment to continuous capacity building for members, the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter, has scheduled a Refresher Session on Digital Media for its members.

The training, which will be anchored by Tijani Ajara, CEO of 132 Media, will take place on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at the Taiwo Awoniyi SWAN Secretariat, George Agbazika innih Stadium Complex Ilorin, by 11:00 a.m. 

 According to the statement signed by the Assistant Secretary of Kwara SWAN, Sodiq Adebara ,the session is designed to sharpen the digital media skills of sports journalists and enhance their adaptability to modern trends in sports reporting.

The statement urges members to participate actively in the training, noting that such initiatives are in line with its broader agenda to strengthen professionalism, media visibility, and collaboration between journalists and stakeholders in the sports sector.

The Association  noted that the digital media space continues to shape the landscape of sports reporting globally, and it is important for members to stay up-to-date with emerging trends, tools, and techniques that will improve the quality and timeliness of their work.

Kwara SWAN emphasized that the refresher session is not only about improving technical know-how but also about empowering members to compete favorably with their counterparts across the world by leveraging digital platforms for effective storytelling, real-time reporting, and broader audience engagement.

It added that such trainings will remain a regular feature of the Association’s calendar in order to equip members with relevant skills and ensure they remain at the forefront of modern sports journalism practice.
