‘Nobody Does That To Me And Gets Away With It’: Fuji Star K1 De Ultimate Warns ValueJet Owner In Leaked Audio After Altercation With Airline Staff
Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has vowed never to fly with ValueJet again, accusing the airline of humiliating him despite his medical condition, according to a leaked audio recording.
In the viral audio, Ayinde condemned the airline’s treatment, saying no one treats him that way and gets away with it. He warned that ValueJet’s owner, Kunle Soname, would feel his displeasure in his business.
"My name is Wasiu Ayinde, nobody does that with me and gets away with it. I didn't bypass the queue, I didn't jump the queue and the next thing I heard is, you cannot go on our flight. I don't want to go anymore on that flight anymore in my life," he said.
"But Soname will feel it, Soname will feel me, in his business."
The musician explained that the confrontation began when he requested water due to his health condition.
"I told them, I am a patient; every minute, I needed this water. I asked them, ‘Are you fair?’ If you are fair, you will pick one thing out that I am a patient. This is my water, don't make it a national issue.
"I said don't make it a national issue, and the next thing, he told the person, don't let him go. And I said, is that the way you want it, if that's how you want it, no one is going in, and it gets to a point and people are gathering and it gained momentum and I opened this and poured the content and said this is water."
Ayinde further alleged that the airline staff disrespected Soname himself.
"How can you embarrass me, your boss, Soname, on the street. I guarantee Soname in government and I said, ‘Don't embarrass your boss, we will make this a national issue if that's what you want.’"
He reiterated that his demand was rooted in his medical needs.
"I am a patient, I am a dehydrated patient, on the 5th of May, I did my surgery," he said.
The leaked audio surfaced after the musician’s apology following a controversial incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on August 5, 2025.
In a personally signed statement released on Friday, K1 described the altercation at the airport as “unfortunate,” while insisting that the flask he carried at the time contained only water — not alcohol as some reports alleged.
“The incident that occurred at the local wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport was, to say the least, unfortunate,” he said.
“Unknown to many, I suffer from chronic dehydration, and my doctor strongly advised that I remain constantly hydrated. This is why I always carry a water flask with me.”
"Contrary to the negative narrative being circulated in some quarters, the flask contained only water — not alcohol,” he said.
He also extended his apology to the Presidency, the Ministry of Aviation, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, ValueJet, and Nigerians generally.
“I acknowledge and deeply regret the concerns that arose from the incident.
“It was never my intention to cause any disruption or violate aviation protocols.
“My unwavering patriotism and loyalty to the Federal Republic of Nigeria have never been in doubt.
“I would never do anything to tarnish the image I’ve built over the past five decades,” he said.
The apology follows reports by SaharaReporters that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, had confirmed K1’s blacklisting from air travel within and outside Nigeria after the tarmac confrontation.
Keyamo, in a personally issued statement, said he had reviewed reports and video footage from the August 5 incident involving K1 and the crew of ValueJet.
"I have received reports from all the relevant Aviation agencies regarding the altercation between the staff and crew of ValueJet and Kwam 1 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. I have also received video footage of the incident," he said.
Describing the incident as a breach of safety, Keyamo faulted both K1 and the airline staff for allowing the situation to escalate.
"From all the details so far received, my preliminary impression is that it was obviously a case of temporary loss of sanity and control on both sides which could have led to serious fatalities," he said.
He condemned the artist’s behaviour, particularly his movement on the tarmac.
"Contrary to what the agents of Kwam 1 has said, he CONSTANTLY moved his position on the tarmac to ACTUALLY BLOCK the aircraft from taxiing to take position on the runway for take-off. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE behaviour," he said.
Keyamo said the substance in K1’s flask was not the main issue.
"The issue of whether he was carrying water or alcohol is not even in issue at this point. It is the physical blockage of the aircraft from taxiing that is the reprehensible conduct here which is akin to a hostage situation. The actual video footage showing this recalcitrant behaviour is hereby attached," he said.
He also criticised the pilot for proceeding with taxiing while the obstruction remained.
"On the other hand, NO AMOUNT of provocation should make the Captain and Pilot of an aircraft begin to taxi without ensuring that the security personnel have safely moved an unruly passenger away that is standing in front of an aircraft," he said.
Both parties, he said, breached aviation safety rules.
