The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has congratulated Mr. Osayi Courage Osamuyi on his appointment as the South-South Zonal Representative of the Wushu Kung Fu Federation of Nigeria (WKF-NG).
In a statement issued by his Media Officer, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Enabulele described Osayi’s emergence as a reflection of his dedication and visionary leadership in martial arts. He noted that the new role would help drive grassroots development, create opportunities for young Nigerians, and further advance sports excellence across the region.
“Your wealth of experience, passion for sports development, and proven track record will no doubt guide the South-South Zone of the Federation to even greater heights, both nationally and internationally,” Enabulele said.
On behalf of the Commission, athletes, officials, and the people of Edo State, Enabulele commended Osayi’s determination to elevate Wushu Kung Fu as a tool for unity, discipline, and national pride. He expressed confidence that his tenure would bring innovation, achievements, and milestones to inspire the next generation.
In his response, Osayi expressed gratitude to God Almighty, the national leadership of WKF-NG, Hon. Enabulele, and the Edo State Wushu Kung Fu Association for their support. He described his appointment as a call to service and pledged to work with stakeholders across Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River States to reposition the sport.
“This victory is not mine alone—it is for every athlete, coach, and martial arts enthusiast in our region. My focus is to bring visibility, structure, and development opportunities to Wushu Kung Fu in the South-South zone,” Osayi stated.
He further unveiled plans to discover new talents, build capacity for athletes and coaches, attract sponsorships, and position the South-South as a hub of martial arts excellence in Nigeria.
