Together We Rise: Welcoming Our New Basorun Estate Executives
A fresh breeze of hope and renewed purpose is sweeping through Basorun Estate, as residents come together to celebrate the election of a new team of executives to lead the Basorun Estate Resident Association (BERA). This moment marks not just a change in leadership, but a celebration of community spirit, dedication, and collective progress.
For years, Basorun Estate has stood as more than just a neighborhood — it is a family bound by shared values of peace, cooperation, and growth. Our residents have continually shown that when people come together with love and commitment, they can create an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and truly at home.
The outgone executives, ably led by QS Kolawole Fadayomi, alongside the Secretary Emeritus, Engr. Stephen Olatunji, who diligently served as the scribe over the past four years, have left an admirable legacy. In his report of stewardship, the outgoing chairman expressed heartfelt appreciation to all executives and residents for the opportunity to lead the community for four fruitful years.
He also highlighted several key achievements recorded during their tenure, including:
The transformation of the estate’s structure from seven (7) zones to ten (10) zones.
The registration of BERA with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
The establishment of a new security architecture to ensure adequate safety for residents and visitors.
Sustained collaboration with government security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Air Force, and Amotekun Security Operatives.
The institution of the annual BERA Get-Together/Thanksgiving Party, a cherished event that fosters unity, celebration, and community bonding.
The creation of an internal transportation system to curb the movement of motorcycles (Okada), tricycles (Marwa), and painted taxis within the estate.
The newly elected executives now step forward with a renewed sense of purpose — ready to serve, to listen, and to lead with transparency and integrity. Their vision reflects our shared dream: to strengthen unity within our estate, improve the quality of our communal life, and continue building a neighborhood that future generations will be proud to call home.
The following are the newly elected executives:
Chairman: Chief Ayo Afolabi (Zone 7) – unanimously elected unopposed.
Vice-Chairman: Mr. Dayo Oyeola (Zone 9) – elected after a keenly contested process.
Secretary: Arc. Kolade (Zone 3)
Assistant Secretary: Mr. Yusuff Abina (Zone 6)
Treasurer: Mr. Ogechi Ewuru (Zone 10)
Financial Secretary: Mr. Richard (Zone 5)
Ex-Officio I & II: QS Kolawole Fadayomi and Engr. Stephen Olatunji (Immediate Past Chairman and Secretary respectively)
Other appointments announced by the Central Chairman are the Central Security Chairman, Mr. Adedapo Ajibola, Central Electricity Chairman, Mr. Tola Adigun and Dr. Amos Oladimeji, The Public Relations Officer, PRO.
As we welcome these capable individuals into their new roles, we also take a moment to recognize and appreciate the remarkable efforts of the outgoing executives. Their contributions, sacrifices, and leadership have laid a solid foundation upon which new successes will be built. We thank them wholeheartedly for their dedication and service to our beloved community.
Now, with optimism in our hearts and cooperation as our compass, we look ahead to an exciting new chapter. Together, we can achieve greater milestones — cleaner surroundings, stronger security, improved infrastructure, and an even deeper sense of belonging.
