El-Rufai Announces Exit From SDP, reveals how a joint decision with Peter Obi made him delay his official transfer to ADC
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has clarified the coalition’s earlier decision regarding party affiliations, explaining that “accordingly, Mr Peter Obi and I requested the indulgence of the coalition to allow us remain in our respective parties until the conclusion of these bye-elections and out-of-season elections.”
He noted that all pending elections were concluded last week, eliminating any further need for him or Peter Obi to stay in the SDP or Labour Party. According to him, “for that reason, we have no reason any longer to remain in the SDP or the Labour Party. By the grace of God, along with other partners, we’re going to repeat what we did in 2015 when we got rid of the incompetent, ste+ling and corr¥pt PDP administration.”
El-Rufai launched a scathing criticism of the present Kaduna State government, declaring that it is “led by people that have no name, no address, no surname to protect, and therefore they think the purpose of being in government is to st+al and divert public funds we contributed into bringing to office.”
He emphasized a moral responsibility to oust the current administration, saying, “we therefore have a duty to contribute in sending them back home so they go to prison by the grace of God.”
The former governor then called on Kaduna residents to mobilize politically:
“So I want to call on all the people of Kaduna State to come and register with the ADC and get their permanent voter’s card and prepare to vote out this incompetent, cu+sed and use+ess people pretending to be a government.”
