Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, on Friday held a strategic meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to address persistent security concerns and fast-track key development priorities in the state.

According to a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on New Media, Aliyu Bandado, Governor Idris conveyed appreciation to President Tinubu for the prompt federal intervention that ensured the safe release of the 24 students abducted last week from Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School (GGCS), Maga.

Governor Idris also briefed the President on the broader security situation in parts of Kebbi State and outlined ongoing measures to safeguard communities. These include enhanced security deployments, expanded surveillance, and reinforced collaboration with federal agencies.

Beyond security, the Governor highlighted major development initiatives across agriculture, education, and healthcare designed to accelerate socio-economic growth in Kebbi State.

Discussions further centred on strengthening intelligence sharing, improving rapid response systems, and intensifying joint operations between state and federal security outfits to curb criminal activity.

President Tinubu lauded Governor Idris’s hands-on approach to managing security and pledged sustained federal support to ensure peace and development in the state.

The Governor was accompanied to the meeting by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
