Anthony Joshua Escapes Death as he Survived Road Accident in Ogun
Former two-time world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, has been involved in a road accident in Ogun State, sparking concern among fans and the general public.
Reports gathered from Daily Post and other national newspapers indicate that the accident occurred on Monday along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, around the Sagamu axis of the state.
Joshua, a British-Nigerian boxer, was said to be travelling in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) when the car collided with a stationary truck along the busy highway. He was reportedly seated as a passenger at the time of the incident.
Eyewitness accounts revealed that the crash caused a temporary traffic disruption as emergency responders and road safety officials arrived at the scene. Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were said to have coordinated rescue efforts and cleared the road for vehicular movement.
Although Joshua survived the crash, reports indicate that two persons lost their lives in the accident. The boxer was said to have sustained minor injuries and received immediate medical attention before being moved for further evaluation.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the exact cause of the crash, but investigations have commenced. Efforts to reach Joshua’s management team for comments were still ongoing as of press time.
