The body of a 71-year-old Nigerian doctor and university professor, Dr. Cletus Iwuagwu, has been discovered weeks after he was reported missing in Springfield Township, Ohio.

Dr. Iwuagwu was last seen on November 24 after he was discharged from a local hospital and returned to his residence. Surveillance footage later captured him in the vicinity of his home in Holland at about 2:15 a.m. on November 25.

Following his disappearance, law enforcement agencies launched an extensive search involving police officers, drone surveillance, K-9 units, and community volunteers. The search came to a tragic end on December 25 when his body was found in Orchard Lake near the Stone Oak Country Club. The Springfield Fire Department recovered the body, which was subsequently identified as Dr. Iwuagwu.

Dr. Iwuagwu was a professor at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences and a geriatric medicine physician with UToledo Health. He was widely respected in the medical and academic community, with colleagues and residents expressing deep sorrow over his death after weeks of uncertainty surrounding his disappearance.
