They Are Denying My Children Admission Because Of My Stand On Christian Killings — Rev. Dachomo Cries Out
The regional chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (cocin) for barkin ladi local government area of plateau state, rev. ezekiel dachomo, has alleged that his children are being deliberately denied admission into tertiary institutions because of his outspoken stance on the kiilling of christians in nigeria.
In a statement issued on friday, the clergyman said his children, who are qualified for university admission, have repeatedly been rejected by schools, particularly in northern nigeria, due to his vocal advocacy against what he describes as the systematic killing of christians by bandits and terrorists, especially in plateau state.
Rev. dachomo described the situation as painful and unfair, stressing that his children are innocent and should not be punished for his public views or activism. He noted that despite meeting admission requirements, his children have faced repeated rejections without clear explanations.
According to him, the challenges often arise during screening processes when admission officers allegedly recognize the surname “dachomo,” after which the applications are set aside or quietly dropped. He claimed this has happened on more than three occasions, mostly in northern institutions, which he believes shows a deliberate pattern.
“My children have been denied admission into universities, especially in the north, because of my stance in exposing the killing of christians,” he stated.
The cleric added that the situation has caused emotional distress to his family, particularly his children, who have no involvement in his advocacy. He appealed to the government and educational authorities to ensure that his children are not denied their right to education because of his beliefs or public position.
