Barrister Chief Niyi Aborisade, a legal practitioner, Ibadan chief, and 2027 governorship aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has extended warm congratulations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadan, on his emergence as Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas.
In a statement made available to the press, Aborisade described the appointment as a well deserved recognition of the Olubadan’s exceptional wisdom, wealth of experience, and long-standing contribution to leadership and public service.
According to him, Oba Ladoja’s elevation comes at a critical time when traditional institutions across Yorubaland are expected to play stronger roles in promoting peace, unity, and moral authority amid social and economic challenges.
“Your wisdom and experience of life have clearly distinguished you for greater responsibilities. This is a period when our land needs calm, mature, and principled leadership within the traditional institution, and Your Imperial Majesty embodies these qualities,” Aborisade said.
The ADC chieftain and governorship hopeful further noted that the Olubadan’s leadership would inspire confidence among traditional rulers and citizens alike, while strengthening cooperation among monarchs across Oyo State and the wider Yoruba nation.
He expressed optimism that Oba Ladoja’s tenure as chairman would usher in a new era of harmony, constructive dialogue, and cultural stability within the council.
Aborisade concluded with prayers for divine guidance and a peaceful reign, urging the monarch to continue to serve as a symbol of dignity and unity for Ibadanland and the state at large.
“May your reign be peaceful, impactful, and memorable,” he added.
Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, a revered monarch and seasoned statesman, now leads the Oyo State Council of Obas at a time of renewed expectations for strong traditional governance and cultural preservation.
