The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has outlined the ruling party’s key strategies to secure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 presidential election, emphasising grassroots mobilisation, expanded membership, and showcasing the administration’s policy achievements.
Addressing party stakeholders in Abuja, Yilwatda said President Tinubu is “firmly positioned” for re‑election, noting that efforts are underway to strengthen the APC’s internal structures ahead of the campaign trail. He stressed the importance of involving young Nigerians and expanding party registration as cornerstones of the strategy.
Strengthening Party Structures
According to Yilwatda, the ongoing electronic membership registration drive aims to bolster the party’s grassroots reach, with a target to enrol 10 million members nationwide ahead of the 2027 polls. He explained that a strong membership base would provide reliable data for voter mobilisation and deepen party loyalty at ward and local government levels.
The APC chairman also credited the active participation of youths in party activities for revitalising the grassroots apparatus, stating that their involvement signals that “the future of the party is being shaped from within its ranks.”

Yilwatda highlighted that the APC leadership is emphasising the achievements of the Tinubu administration as part of its outreach strategy. Key initiatives include educational support and economic empowerment programmes, which he argued resonate with both youths and rural communities.
