Police Recover Diverted N18m Cement, Truck in Ibadan
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have recovered a consignment of cement valued at ₦18 million, alongside the truck used to divert the goods, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to police sources, the recovery followed actionable intelligence that led officers to track the movement of the truck after the cement was allegedly diverted from its original destination. Acting swiftly, the operatives intercepted the vehicle and secured the goods without incident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the cement was unlawfully rerouted with the intent to sell it illegally, prompting the police to launch a manhunt for those connected to the diversion. The recovered truck and cement have since been taken into police custody as investigations continue.
The police reassured residents of Ibadan and Oyo State of their commitment to protecting lives, property, and commercial interests, warning individuals and groups involved in diversion, theft, or economic sabotage that they will be brought to justice.
