Outrage Over Alleged Erroneous Transfer of N100m Anambra Fund to Ex-IGP’s Son’s Account
There has been public outrage following reports of an alleged erroneous transfer of N100 million belonging to Anambra State into the bank account of a son of a former Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
The development, which reportedly surfaced through internal financial disclosures, has triggered reactions from political stakeholders and civil society groups demanding clarification and accountability.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the funds were said to have been part of allocations designated for a state-related project before they were allegedly transferred into a private account under unclear circumstances.
A civic advocacy group in the state described the situation as “deeply troubling,” calling on relevant anti-graft agencies to conduct a thorough investigation.
“If truly a public fund was mistakenly or otherwise paid into a private account, the public deserves a full explanation and immediate corrective action,” the group said.
