‘Those Who Mean Well for Kano Must Align With Tinubu’ — Gov Yusuf
Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has urged political stakeholders and residents to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying that aligning with the president is in the best interest of Kano people.
Yusuf made the remarks on Tuesday during a political event in the state, where he emphasized the importance of cooperation between the federal and state governments to drive development.
“Those who truly mean well for the people of Kano must stand with President Tinubu. Cooperation with the federal government is essential to deliver meaningful progress to our citizens,” the governor said.
He highlighted ongoing federal projects in Kano, including infrastructure and social interventions, stressing that political alignment would facilitate the smooth implementation of such initiatives.
The governor also cautioned against political divisions, warning that discord could delay development and weaken the state’s influence at the national level.
Yusuf’s statement comes amid growing political realignments in the state following his defection from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Supporters of the governor hailed the remarks as a call for unity, while critics argued that development should not be tied solely to political loyalty.
