BREAKING: Pandemonium in Oyo as Thugs Attack Ex-Deputy Governor’s Residence
Panic gripped parts of Ibadan on Saturday after suspected political thugs reportedly attacked the residence of a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, destroying property and causing chaos in the area.
According to reports by Daily Post, the attackers stormed the residence of former Deputy Governor Moses Adeyemo, located in Ibadan, where they vandalised vehicles and other valuables.
Eyewitnesses said the thugs arrived in large numbers, chanting political slogans and threatening residents before unleashing violence on the property. The incident reportedly caused panic among neighbours and passers-by, forcing many people to flee the area for safety.
Sources within the community said the attack may not be unconnected to rising political tensions ahead of future elections in the state, though the exact motive behind the assault has not yet been confirmed.
Security operatives were later deployed to the area to restore calm and prevent further violence.
As of the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Police Force in Oyo State had yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident or confirm if any arrests had been made.
Residents have called on the state government and security agencies to investigate the attack and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
