Otti Approves Land for Nigerian Air Force Training Base in Abia

Governor Alex Otti has approved the allocation of land for the establishment of a training base for the Nigerian Air Force in Abia State.

The approval is part of efforts by the state government to strengthen security collaboration with federal security agencies and enhance the operational capacity of the Air Force in the region.

Officials said the proposed training facility will serve as a centre for the training and deployment of Air Force personnel, while also supporting security operations across Abia and neighbouring states.

Governor Otti noted that the initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to improving security and creating a safer environment for residents and investors.

Security experts believe the presence of a Nigerian Air Force training base in the state could help improve surveillance, rapid response to threats and overall security coordination in the South-East region.

The project is also expected to bring infrastructural development and economic opportunities to host communities.
