‘What I Said About Tinubu Before Was Politics’ – Bwala Reacts to Al Jazeera Interview
A presidential aide, Daniel Bwala, has clarified comments he previously made about Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing them as purely political.
Bwala made the clarification while reacting to questions about an earlier interview he granted to Al Jazeera, where past remarks he made criticising Tinubu resurfaced.
According to a report by Daily Post, Bwala explained that the statements he made in the past were part of political debates at the time and should not be taken as personal attacks.
He stressed that politics often involves strong criticism among opponents, noting that such comments are common in political contests.
Bwala also maintained that since joining the administration, his focus has been on supporting the policies and leadership of President Tinubu.
The presidential aide added that political actors frequently change positions depending on evolving circumstances and alliances within the political landscape.
His remarks come amid ongoing public discussions over the role of political appointees who previously criticised the government but later joined it.
