ADC CONGRESS: Aborisade Hails Party Faithful, Vows Resistance Against Political Pressure
A chieftain and leading governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Bar. Niyi Aborisade, who is also the Mogaji of Ajagba Compound, Oke-Offa Babasale, Ibadan, and a UK-based legal practitioner, has commended party members and executives for their resilience and commitment ahead of the much-anticipated 2026 Oyo State ADC Congress.
Aborisade described the congress as a defining moment for unity, internal democracy, and the consolidation of the party’s structure in the state.
In a statement, he warmly welcomed delegates and stakeholders to the crucial gathering, noting that their dedication and doggedness have kept the party strong despite prevailing challenges.
The congress, held at the party's Secretariat, Mokola ibadan, brought together party leaders, delegates, and supporters from across the 33 local government areas of the state. The event also attracted top national figures of the party, including David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola, signaling its importance in shaping the party’s future.
He specifically praised the state the Chairman Alhaji Yinka Olona, Hon. Niyi Akinbowale who's the you leader Youth Leader, Barr Bimpe Adelowo the Publicity Secretary, other executives and grassroots members for their steadfastness in ensuring the smooth conduct of the congress, stressing that their loyalty and sacrifices have laid a solid foundation for the party’s growth.
Aborisade also lauded the national leadership of the ADC for what he described as their courage and principled stance “in the eye of the storm,” adding that their commitment to justice and internal democracy continues to inspire confidence among party faithful across the country.
Speaking on the broader political climate, Aborisade declared that no amount of pressure would prevent the ADC from appearing on the ballot in the 2027 general elections. He insisted that Nigeria would never become a one-party state, even if the ruling party continues what he described as disruptions to the activities of opposition parties.
In his message to delegates, Aborisade strongly emphasized unity, discipline, and collective resolve, noting that the strength of the ADC lies in its credibility as a people-driven alternative to the existing political order in the state.
He described the congress as more than a routine exercise, calling it a turning point and a call to action for members to close ranks, deepen internal cohesion, and build a party that truly reflects the yearnings of the people of Oyo State.
