Oyo South Senator, Alli to Declare Governorship Bid in Ibadan April 17
Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, has announced his intention to contest the Oyo State governorship election in 2027.
The announcement was made in a statement released by his Media Office on Monday in Ibadan.
According to the statement, the official declaration will take place on Friday, April 17, at the Divisional Police Station Training Field in Yemetu, Ibadan, starting at 10:00 a.m.
The event is expected to draw party leaders, key stakeholders, supporters, and well-wishers from across Oyo State and beyond, as the seasoned politician formally unveils his ambition under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Alli, a former Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, and former Chief of Staff to a past governor, is widely recognised for his grassroots appeal and extensive experience in governance and administration.
Currently serving as the senator for Oyo South, he is entering the race with a vision focused on sustainable development, improved governance, and inclusive growth for the state.
Sources within his camp revealed that the declaration will also provide an opportunity for him to present his agenda and mobilise party supporters ahead of what is anticipated to be a highly competitive contest.
Meanwhile, adequate security and logistical arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth and successful event, as anticipation continues to build among supporters and political observers.
