Light up Oyo State: Oyo Reverts from Diesel Power to Tribrid System of Powering Street Lights

Light up Oyo State: Oyo Reverts from Diesel Power to Tribrid System of Powering Street Lights.

Recall that the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources asserts on a live radio interview some months ago that LightUp Oyo project will henceforth transit to its original scoped system that is, the Tribid system which comprises grid, inverter, gas generator for support as agreed with the developer in a bid to make it more available, consistent and effective across the state.

The primary fuse which uses diesel as its source of energy was purposely used for the actualisation of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde’s led administration priority of getting the light on to reduce the crime rate across the state, as well as make the environment more conducive. The light-up Oyo State project is a massive project aimed at ensuring effective operation of street lights in the State in order to enhance security of lives and property of the habitants in the state.
The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources Hon. Seun Tna stated that Governor Seyi Makinde (GSM) has approved the Tribrid Power System which uses the National Grids, Inverters and Gas Generating Source right before the commencement of the light-up project. The project has been reverted from Diesel-Powered to Tribrid System of power street light all over the state
We are grateful to our working Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Commissioner In charge of Energy and Mineral Resources and Other concerned stakeholders for their commitment in ensuring full public lighting coverage across the State.
