We’re Wired for Victory” , ADC Shakes Oyo North With Massive Turnout

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) stormed Iseyin on Saturday in what political watchers are already describing as a show of strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Oyo North Senatorial meeting of the party turned into a political carnival, drawing a mammoth crowd from across Iwajowa, Orelope, Orire, Saki and Egbeda Local Government Areas etc. Party faithful flooded the venue in their numbers, chanting solidarity songs and reaffirming their commitment to the ADC’s mission in Oyo State.

An elated Oyo State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Yinka Olona, could not hide his excitement as he addressed the enthusiastic gathering. With visible confidence, he declared that the ADC is marching steadily toward taking over the political structure of Oyo State.

The meeting took a dramatic turn when ADC Governorship Aspirant Barrister Chief Niyi Aborisade mounted the podium. The fiery politician commended members for their loyalty and described the crowd as a clear signal that the ADC has firmly planted its roots in the state and across Nigeria.

Responding to critics who downplay the party’s growing influence, Aborisade delivered a sharp Yoruba proverb that electrified the audience. He said opponents boast that if the ADC captures the cities and major towns, they would retreat to the villages to regain relevance. But, he countered, they forget that any political force strong enough to win cities and towns can effortlessly sweep through the villages as well.

His statement drew loud applause from party members.
Aborisade declared that the ADC is “fully wired” for 2027 and ready to take over Oyo State and Nigeria at large. In a stinging remark directed at the opposition, he said the umbrella symbol of the Peoples Democratic Party has been torn beyond repair, insisting that the party has collapsed under the weight of its internal contradictions.

According to him, the rush of politicians seeking refuge in the ADC is proof of its rising profile. However, he issued a strong warning to intending defectors, cautioning them against coming with the mindset of hijacking the party’s structure or installing themselves as emperors  a political culture he said destroyed their former platforms.
He made it clear that while the ADC’s doors remain wide open to those who share its developmental ideology, discipline and respect for leadership remain sacrosanct. He further stressed that regardless of who joins the party, Alhaji Yinka Olona remains the undisputed leader of the ADC in Oyo State.

In a major highlight of the event, Aborisade formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State on the ADC platform. He described all aspirants within the party as members of one political family, united by a common goal to reposition the state for growth and prosperity.

Though he declined to unveil his blueprint, noting that the campaign season has not officially begun, he expressed strong optimism about emerging as the party’s flag bearer and urged members to remain steadfast and give their total loyalty to the ADC.

Saturday’s massive turnout in Iseyin has further fueled speculation that the ADC is positioning itself as a formidable contender in Oyo politics as the road to 2027 gathers momentum.
