Atiku Abubakar, PDP Closes Case At Presidential Tribunal After Presenting 27 Witnesses To Challenge Tinubu's Victory
Former Vice President and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Friday concluded his case to nullify the victory of President Bola Tinubu's election before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) in Abuja.
Atiku, who called a total of 27 witnesses and presented various documentary items in evidence before the court, stated that he decided to terminate his case since he had exhausted the days allotted to him to present his case against Tinubu.
“My lords, at this point in time, may we humbly inform your lordships that this will be our last witness,” Atiku’s lead counsel, Chief Chris Uche, SAN, was quoted by Vanguard telling the court.
He continued: “Having exhausted the days allocated to us, pursuant to the pre-hearing report and Paragraph 46(5) of the First Schedule to the Electoral Act, 2022, we most humbly apply the formally close the case for the petitioners.”
