A United Kingdom based lawyer, activist, philanthropist and 2027 Oyo State governorship aspirant, Barrister Chief Niyi Aborisade, has congratulated the people of Oyo State and Nigerians at large on the celebration of Christmas, urging them to embrace love, peace, tolerance and unity during the festive season and beyond.
In his Christmas goodwill message made available to journalists on Wednesday, Aborisade thanked God for the gift of Jesus Christ to humanity, describing Christmas as a season that reminds mankind of the power of love, sacrifice and compassion.
“Merry Christmas to my good people of Oyo State. We thank the Almighty God who sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to the world to convey His love for humanity. This season is a reminder that love remains the greatest force capable of healing our land,” he said.
Aborisade called on residents of the state to reflect deeply on the true meaning of Christmas by extending love to one another, especially to the less privileged, the vulnerable and those facing hardship as a result of the prevailing economic realities in the country.
“Let us rejoice in the love of God and consciously share this love with one another. As families celebrate, let us remember those who have little or nothing. Let love fill our homes, our communities, our state and the entire nation,” he added.
The legal practitioner also appealed for peace and restraint during the festivities, urging youths to avoid violence, reckless celebrations and acts capable of disturbing public order.
According to him, the season should be used to strengthen communal bonds, promote peaceful coexistence across religious and ethnic lines, and renew hope in a better and more prosperous Oyo State and Nigeria.
“Christmas should renew our faith in unity, peaceful coexistence and responsible citizenship. I urge our youths to celebrate responsibly, shun crime and embrace positive engagement that will move our dear state forward,” Aborisade stated.
He further prayed for renewed hope, divine direction for leaders at all levels, and a new dawn of economic stability, security and inclusive development for Oyo State and Nigeria in the coming year.
Aborisade concluded by wishing all Christians a joyful Christmas celebration and all residents a peaceful, prosperous and fulfilling New Year.
