During a gathering with Kano state APC officials at his residence in Abuja, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, shared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has guaranteed that his role as the party chairman will remain secure.
Ganduje recounted that following a meeting with Tinubu on Monday, the president reassured him of his position as the party's national chairman, stating, "I met with the president, and he assured me that despite attempts by the Kano State Government to displace me from my role as APC Chairman, my position will remain unchanged."
Ganduje continued, "He reiterated my role as APC National Chairman."
The APC has accused Kano state governor Abba Yusuf of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) of being behind the alleged suspension of the party chairman from his ward in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano state. The party also disclosed that Yusuf is allegedly supporting individuals posing as party members to disrupt the APC in Kano state, following what they described as a malicious campaign of political harassment against Ganduje.
