PHOTOS: Troops intercept RPGs, pistols en route to Lake Chad
The Chad-Sudan joint force has intercepted a total of 296 weapons, including two RPGs and seventeen pistols, among others, en route to Lake Chad.
The weapons were intercepted during a law enforcement operation in Teleguey, a village located in the Djourfal Ahmar Department in Chad.
This was made known by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, via his X handle on Wednesday, May 22.
The post reads: "A total of 296 weapons of any calibre, including 2 RPG and 17 pistols, were presented to the local press by the Chad-Sudan joint force.
These firearms were seized by law enforcement during an operation carried out in the village of Teleguey, in Djourfal Ahmar Department.
"The ceremony took place in the presence of the Governor of the Province of Ouaddaï, General Bachar Ali Souleymane, and the Coordinator of the Eastern Operational Zones, Commander of the Joint Force Chad-Sudan, General of the Army Corps Ousmane Bahar Mahamat Itno, as well as officers and non-commissioners of the Defence and security forces."
