Alhaja Alimotu Sadia Oloto, affectionately known as Iya Oyo, has passed away after a short illness, Lagos Reporters reports.
Known as the wife of the late Oba Buhari Oloto, she was a significant figure in Lagos' social circles for more than four decades.
Alhaja Alimotu Sadia Oloto was not only a socialite but also a prosperous fabric merchant, having traded in fabrics for more than 30 years.
Her venture into the fabric trade commenced in the 1980s, and she became a familiar presence in ministry circles, retailing garments.
Through her commitment and diligence, she established her inaugural shop at Mosalashi, Jimoh in Lagos Island.
In acknowledgment of her great contributions and exemplary conduct, Alhaja Alimotu Sadia Oloto was honored with the title of Yeye-Oba of Iboroland in Ogun State on the 27th of May, 2017. The celebration was a lavish event, featuring musical performances by the King of Fuji, King Wasiu Ayinde.
