Former VP Atiku Abubakar Urges Immediate Government Action to Curb Rising Violence in Katsina State

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has raised alarm over the growing violence in Katsina State following the recent attack on Yargoje village in the Kankara Local Government Area. Expressing deep concern over the tragic loss of lives and the abduction of vulnerable women and children during the onslaught, Atiku highlighted the urgency for a swift and effective response to curb the escalating insecurity in the region.
Moreover, Atiku condemned the ambush on a police armoured personnel carrier by bandits in Gidan Tofa and Dan Nakwabo villages, which resulted in the death of four police officers and two members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps. The former Vice President expressed distress at the government's apparent helplessness and indifference towards the recurring incidents of banditry and terrorism, despite substantial defense allocations in the national budget.
Emphasizing the need for immediate action, Atiku extended his condolences to the bereaved families and reiterated his call for the government to prioritize the protection of citizens' lives and property. As the wave of violence continues unabated in the region, Atiku's statements underscore a growing sense of urgency for decisive measures to address the security challenges plaguing Katsina State.
