Residents of Igbe Laara in Ikorodu Local Government have voiced frustration over the dilapidated condition of the Bola Tinubu Way, a road named after Nigeria’s current president. The once-promising road project has fallen into disrepair, becoming a trap for vehicles and causing serious disruptions for local commuters and students, especially during the rainy season.
Each downpour leaves the road nearly impassable, with deep pools and mud preventing schoolchildren from reaching their classrooms. Residents have called upon the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to urgently address the state of the road, which has languished incomplete and unattended for years.
“This road has become a nightmare for us,” lamented a resident. “Every time it rains, we’re practically stranded. Our children can’t go to school, and cars get stuck regularly. We need the government to step in and complete this project.”
The community hopes the governor’s intervention will bring relief to their daily struggles, restore mobility, and ensure students have access to uninterrupted education. As the rainy season progresses, the call for action intensifies, with residents rallying for immediate repairs on the abandoned Bola Tinubu Way.
