"Ibadan Northeast Supervisory Councilors Deny Suspension Rumors, Pledge Support for Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo"
On Friday, a group of supervisory councilors from Ibadan Northeast Local Government reportedly filed a petition accusing the executive chairman of the LGA of gross misconduct.
However, the majority of the councilors swiftly debunked the claims, dismissing the petition as a baseless attempt to tarnish the reputation of the executive chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo.
There were also claims that the Chairman frequently travels without properly delegating authority. However, this has been debunked. It was gathered that on December 31, 2024, additional Supervisors and Special Advisers were inaugurated in a ceremony presided over by the Executive Vice Chairman. During the event, the Vice Chairman clarified that he was acting under the powers vested in him and with the explicit authorization of the Chairman. Present at the swearing-in ceremony were the LG Party Chairman, Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun Abuye; the Leader, Olugbega Arole Adewusi; all Ward Chairmen; all LG Executives; the Leader of the Legislative House of Ibadan Northeast, Mojidi Igbalajobi; and all councilors, along with the LG Secretary, Femi Afolabi. Additionally, the Chairman was accused of mismanaging local government funds and failing to initiate new projects. However, these claims have been dismissed as baseless. The Executive Chairman is widely recognized as a visionary leader dedicated to delivering the dividends of democracy to his people—a commitment he has consistently upheld since assuming office. Documented evidence is available to refute these allegations, proving them to be entirely unfounded.
It is important to highlight that the Executive Chairman has consistently demonstrated a commitment to peace and collaboration. He values his cabinet members and deeply appreciates the unique contributions they bring to the administration. At no point has he ever authorized or condoned any act of intimidation or harassment by the V.P.S or any other official. Instead, he remains focused on ensuring that the local government operates efficiently and harmoniously, fostering a conducive environment for development and progress.
