Breaking News: 2027: Votes Will Count — Peter Obi Rallies Obidients, Slams ‘Criminal Enterprise’ Running Nigeria

Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has declared that the 2027 general elections will mark a turning point in Nigeria’s political history, with a strong warning that “votes will count, and those who think they won’t count will be counted.”

Obi made this bold statement on Tuesday at the launch of a new biography titled “Obi: The Political Change Agent, The Inevitability of a New Nigeria” written by veteran journalist Ike Abonyi.

In a fiery address, the former Anambra State governor called for electoral accountability and urged members of the Obidient Movement to remain resolute despite the disappointments of the 2023 elections.

“This time around, we will be everywhere,” Obi promised. “We will vote, the votes will count, and those who think they will not count will be counted.”

Lamenting Nigeria’s current state, Obi compared the country to the Titanic — a ship many believed unsinkable. “Some are celebrating on the upper deck, not knowing the ship is going down. When it sinks, it will consume everyone — rich or poor,” he warned.

Obi condemned the nation’s ruling class, accusing them of running what he described as a “criminal enterprise” driven by greed and disconnected from the pain of everyday Nigerians.

“Nigerians are refugees in their own land and even across borders like Cameroon — and we are not at war. It’s simply because we lack a people-centric government,” he said.

He criticized leaders who focus on vanity projects while citizens suffer. “They become president and their priority is renovating buildings and conference centers while women are dying in hospitals.”

Obi emphasized that true change must come by dismantling the existing power structure. “This structure of injustice is not sustainable. We must gang up to remove it — not for me, but for all of us.”

He called on his supporters to begin grassroots mobilization ahead of 2027. “Go back to your villages and raise awareness. The change we seek starts with each of us.”
