Three Years After Son’s Tragic Death, Late Sylvester Oromoni’s Mother to Be Laid to Rest in Warri, Delta State
The family of late Evangelist Mrs. Rosemary Oromoni has announced plans for her burial, nearly a year after her passing in November 2024. She will be laid to rest on Friday, August 9, 2025, at the family residence in Warri, Delta State.
Mrs. Oromoni, mother of the late Sylvester Oromoni Jr.—the Dowen College student whose 2021 de@th drew nationwide outrage, reportedly struggled with d+press+on and high bl%%d pressure following the loss of her 12-year-old son.
Sylvester Jr. d+ed under controversial circumstances in November 2021. While his family alleged he was b¥llied and forced to ingest a h@rmful substance by fellow students, Dowen College maintained he sustained inj¥ries during a football game. The conflicting accounts led to multiple investigations and autopsies, culminating in a coroner’s ruling that he d+ed of natural causes related to sepsis. No student was held responsible.
Dissatisfied with the verdict, the Oromoni family withheld his burial for over two years. He was finally buried in January 2024. Just 10 months later, Mrs. Oromoni passed away.
The back-to-back tragedies have deepened public sympathy for the family and underscored the enduring emotional impact of the unresolved case.
