Breaking News: Sanwo-Olu Swears In Ifelodun LCDA Chairman Okeowo After Recovery From Overseas Treatment

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, officially swore in Hon. Olufemi Okeowo as Chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), four weeks after the swearing-in of other council chairmen across the state.

Okeowo, who was elected during the July 12 local government polls, could not take the oath of office alongside his colleagues on July 27 due to ill health. He was said to have been receiving medical treatment overseas at the time.

Now fully recovered, Okeowo has assumed office with a charge from Governor Sanwo-Olu to demonstrate commitment to grassroots governance and deliver on the mandate given to him by the people of Ifelodun LCDA.

The governor emphasized that the work of council chairmen remains central to the success of the state government’s development agenda, noting that Okeowo must hit the ground running despite the delayed swearing-in.

With his inauguration, all duly elected council bosses in Lagos are now officially in office.
