The Lagos State Police Command has announced that its Expl+sives Ordnance Disposal – Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Unit will carry out an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) simulation exercise at Eko Atlantic City on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
Police spokesman CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said the drill is aimed at strengthening the force’s preparedness and response to b+mb-related emergencies.
The exercise will feature controlled detonations handled by specialised officers.
“Members of the public are hereby notified that blast sounds will be heard during the exercise, but there will be no shrapnel or associated d+nger,” Hundeyin explained. He urged residents, workers, and visitors around Eko Atlantic to stay calm and continue their activities without panic.
The command assured that adequate safety measures are in place to protect lives and property. Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, appealed for public cooperation and stressed the exercise reflects the police’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Lagosians.
