Breaking News: Kano NNPP Expels Rep Abdulmumin Jibrin over Anti-Party Activities, Unpaid Dues

The Kano State chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has expelled Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, member representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, over alleged anti-party activities and failure to meet financial obligations to the party.

State chairman of the NNPP, Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, announced the decision on Saturday in Kano, stressing that Jibrin’s persistent public criticism of the party and its leadership forced the NNPP to act.

The expulsion comes less than 24 hours after Jibrin hinted at a possible exit from the NNPP, declaring that he was “old enough to independently take a political stand that is best” for him.

Dungurawa dismissed Jibrin’s political weight outside the party, describing him as a “weak politician” whose electoral victory was only possible through the Kwankwasiyya movement.

“If he was truly strong politically, he would have won his election under the APC, but he failed. It was when he joined NNPP through Kwankwasiyya that he became a House of Reps member. Now he is deceiving himself, thinking he is strong,” the chairman said.

The development has further fueled speculations about Jibrin’s next political move, with eyes now on whether he will officially defect to another party.
