NDLEA Raids Lagos Nightclub, Arrests Pretty Mike and Over 100 Others at Drug Party
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested popular Lagos socialite, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, widely known as Pretty Mike, along with more than 100 others during a midnight raid on a drug party at Proxy Nightclub, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the raid occurred in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, following credible intelligence about the planned drug-themed event. NDLEA officers had reportedly infiltrated the club around 11 p.m. on Saturday and disrupted the party at about 3 a.m. Sunday.
“Cartons of illicit substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from suspects at the party and from the club’s store,” Babafemi revealed.
Pretty Mike, identified as the owner of the nightclub, was taken into custody alongside other suspects for screening and further investigation.
Other Major NDLEA Operations Across Nigeria
In a separate operation, NDLEA officers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, uncovered 70 parcels of cocaine concealed inside cocoa butter formula body cream containers bound for London. The 3.6-kilogram consignment was intercepted on October 14, leading to the arrest of cargo agent Lawal Mustapha Olakunle. Two other key suspects — Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, a healthcare worker, and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, a travel agency CEO — were later arrested in Lagos.
At the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, NDLEA intercepted 103.59 grams of methamphetamine hidden in a pack of diabetic herbal coffee. The suspect, a 35-year-old Lesotho national identified as Lemena Mark, was apprehended while attempting to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight to the Philippines.
Similarly, in Kwara State, officers arrested Umar Abubakar (40) with 21,950 capsules of tramadol (250mg) concealed in a 100-litre water heater at Bode Saadu, Moro LGA.
In Taraba State, two suspects — Auwal Musa (26) and Salihu Bala (22) — were intercepted at the Dan-Anacha checkpoint with 450,000 pills of tramadol and Exol-5, hidden in a truck transporting building materials from Onitsha to Mubi.
NDLEA operatives also recorded massive seizures across several states:
- Kogi: 162.2kg of skunk (a potent strain of cannabis) recovered along Okene/Lokoja highway.
- Nasarawa: 128kg of skunk seized from Abubakar Muhammad (55) in Keffi.
- Lagos: Arrest of Oyonumoh Glory Effiong, a mother of two and major dealer in Canadian and California Loud, with 500 grams of the drugs recovered from her Lekki home.
- Ikorodu: 275 litres of skuchies (a psychoactive mixture made from blackcurrant drink, cannabis, and opioids) seized from Ogunyabo Adenigbigbe at Solomade Estate.
- Abia: Arrest of Echendu Onuoka (75) with 4.7kg of skunk and Aukana John (60) with 225 grams in Obingwa LGA.
- Ondo & Kaduna: Over 384kg of skunk seized from multiple suspects in Ikun Akoko and Lere LGA.
- Lagos (Seme border): Jacob Ojugbele caught with 55kg of skunk and Amusa Oluwabukola with 121.3 litres of skuchies.
- Zamfara: Abubakar Ibrahim (30) arrested along Gummi–Anka road with an AK-47 rifle and 1,746 rounds of ammunition intended for Bagega Forest.
NDLEA’s Ongoing War Against Drug Abuse
Beyond arrests, the NDLEA has intensified its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign, conducting sensitization programs in schools, workplaces, and communities nationwide. Among the institutions visited last week were Asabari Grammar School (Oyo), Government Day Girls Secondary School (Kebbi), St. Mark’s College (Enugu), Kusaki Secondary School (Benue), and Police Children School 2 (Port Harcourt).
NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), commended the agency’s operatives for their dedication and urged continued vigilance.
“Our approach remains balanced — enforcement against traffickers and sustained education for prevention. Every officer must continue to uphold our standard operating procedures with professionalism and integrity,” Marwa said.
