Oyo State Sports Council Mourns Director of Organization, Kehinde Ojelowo
The Oyo State sporting community has been thrown into mourning following the death of the Director of Organization at the Oyo State Sports Council, Mr. Kehinde Ojelowo.
According to reports, Mr. Ojelowo, who also served as the Secretary of the Oyo State Football Association, passed away in the early hours of Friday, October 17, 2025. He was said to have been rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
The Oyo State Sports Council, in an official statement signed by Ayobami Fakorede on behalf of the Director of Media and Communications, described his death as a huge loss to the Council and the entire sports community in Oyo State and beyond.
The statement read in part:
“Mr. Ojelowo was a dedicated, intelligent, and diligent administrator whose contributions to sports development in Oyo State will be fondly remembered. His passing marks a great loss not only to the Council but also to the entire sports community in Nigeria.”
The Council extended its condolences to the deceased’s family, colleagues, and loved ones, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time.
Details of his burial arrangements, the statement added, will be announced in due course.
