AMBO Team Berates Adeleke Supporters Over ‘Talisman’ Rumour, Says Claim Shows “Embarrassing Lack of Awareness”
The camp of APC governorship aspirant, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has taken a swipe at supporters of Governor Ademola Adeleke after they alleged that a black band on Oyebamiji’s wrist in a viral photo was a talisman.

Responding to the rumour on Thursday, the AMBO team said the allegation was “a needless display of confusion,” suggesting that those circulating the claim had failed to grasp even the most basic cultural practices.

According to the group, the wristband in question was a mourning armband worn in honour of the late APC Chairman in Osun State, Adegboyega Famodun.

“It is quite surprising that something as straightforward as a mourning band could be mistaken for a charm,” the statement read, adding that the episode “raises questions about the quality of information processing” among Adeleke’s online supporters.

The team maintained that the black armband is a long-established tradition used to honour the departed and accused the governor’s supporters of “rushing to conclusions instead of engaging in simple fact-checking.”

Oyebamiji submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms on December 1, 2025, marking a key step toward securing the APC ticket for the 2026 governorship election.
