Fusengbuwa Family Orders KWAM 1 to Prove Lineage, Warns Against ‘Strangers’ in Awujale Race
The Fusengbuwa ruling house of Ijebu-Ode has insisted that Fuji icon, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, KWAM 1, must prove his ancestral ties before being considered for the Awujale throne.
Family chairman, Abdulateef Owoyemi, said Ayinde must complete the mandatory royal lineage data form, which requires tracing his genealogy back seven generations to confirm genuine membership of the ruling house.
Ayinde had declared interest in the throne in a December 3 letter that went viral, but the family stressed that no aspirant regardless of influence would bypass verification to prevent “strangers” from claiming royal heritage.
Although applications officially closed on December 5, the Fuji star was granted a five-day extension ending December 10. The family expects the next Awujale to emerge by mid-January 2026 after screenings, kingmakers’ deliberations, and government approval.
