Ibeju-Lekki Chairman Olowa Speeds Up 33kV Line Rehabilitation to Restore Power to 10 Communities
The Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has intensified work on the rehabilitation of the vandalised 33kV power line linking Ibeju to Okegun Madagbayun, raising hopes of electricity restoration for 10 affected communities.
Lagos Reporters gathered that the ongoing project is focused on the complete reconstruction of the damaged transmission line, including the installation of new electricity poles, cables and other critical components required for safe and stable power supply.
The accelerated intervention is aimed at restoring electricity to communities along the Okegun axis and surrounding areas, which have suffered prolonged outages due to vandalism and infrastructure failure.
According to the council, the power line rehabilitation forms part of a deliberate effort by the Olowa-led administration to restore essential public services, strengthen infrastructure and support economic activities within Ibeju-Lekki.
Residents and community leaders have expressed optimism as work progresses, noting that improved electricity supply will significantly enhance daily living and boost local businesses. The local government has assured residents that updates will continue as the project advances toward completion.
